110+ Training Centers, And Growing!
The number of training centers listed on our map has caught up with the number of professional builders and parts sourcing specialists we feature, and we've crossed the 110 mark. For a team that started this in 2022 with a simple belief that EV conversion should be accessible to everyone, that number means a lot.
Let us explain why.

Knowledge is the missing piece
Finding someone to convert your car is one challenge. Knowing enough to have a real conversation about it is another. For too long, that knowledge gap has been the invisible wall between enthusiasts and their first project. The EV technician training Database is how that wall comes down.
Our map now lists over 110 EV technician training programs across the United States, spanning community colleges, technical schools, and specialized institutions in 22+ states. We updated and expanded this resource in collaboration with the World Resources Institute's Electric School Bus Initiative, whose own technician training database has become one of the most comprehensive publicly available references in the country. Their database covers both online and in-person programs, with common training topics including high-voltage safety, battery energy storage, and electric-vehicle propulsion.
Many of those programs are offered through community and technical colleges as part of certificate or degree tracks, meaning this isn't just hobbyist knowledge; it's career-grade education that's accessible to anyone passionate about the future of vehicles.

Fuel2Electric, with the help of the World Resource Institute’s Electric School Bus Initiative, created this interactive map.
Where hands-on experience meets certification
Listing schools is one thing. Pointing DIYers toward programs that actually change how you work, that's something else. That's why we're especially proud of our partnership with Switch Vehicles, whose Make Mine Electric program sits in a category of its own. 20+ hours of at-home learning, then 3 days of guided hands-on conversion experience, working alongside qualified instructors, with training materials and an exam code for the ASE xEV Level 1 Safety Certification included, plus five hours of post-workshop technical consultation. Now you're listening!
Why this matters more than ever
Cost of ownership, measured not just in dollars but in cost per hour of actual use, has made the economics of electric conversion increasingly compelling for cars, trucks, and vans alike. The people who understand this shift earliest are the ones who will benefit most from it. Training is what turns curiosity into confidence and confidence into action.
We're also being solicited more and more as advisors for new training centers and community-oriented programs being developed in different states. We welcome that. Whether it's helping shape a curriculum, connecting a new center with the right partners, or simply amplifying what's already being built, we're here for it, and we're more than happy to contribute in any way we can.
Proud, but not done
We couldn't have built this resource alone. It took the World Resources Institute, our partners like Switch Vehicles, and most importantly, this community: the EV conversion enthusiasts, the professional builders, the weekend mechanics, and the dreamers, to make it what it is. We're proud of what's on that map today. We're even more excited about what gets added to it tomorrow.
If you know of a training center that should be listed, tell us. This map belongs to all of us.
