This fully restored 1940 GMC ½ ton Pickup is ready for a new lease on life. Powered by the original 216 cubic inch inline-6 engine backed by a manual 4-speed transmission, the pickup is fully restored to original.
Todd is a DIYer, and he expects his truck to charge fast and drive fast, at 100 plus miles per hour, delivering about 250-300 hp. Compared to the stock engine (80 hp) with a top speed of 45 mph, the 2,255-lb pickup should make a lot of heads turn.
This fully restored 1940 GMC ½ ton Pickup is ready for a new lease on life. Powered by the original 216 cubic inch inline-6 engine backed by a manual 4-speed transmission, the pickup is fully restored to original and equipped with drum brakes at the front and at the rear. It has no AC and no power steering.
After looking for a project pickup for several years, he found this one and bought it six months ago. He wants to turn this pristine prewar pickup into an everyday driver that keeps up with modern cars and traffic.
He has already dismantled the truck and is rebuilding the chassis. He will soon straighten up the body before refinishing it. Brakes, suspension, wheels, tires, and interior will be upgraded. According to Todd, “Modern-day conveniences like power steering and A/C are essential to the project for everyday comfort, just like fast charging.”

Compared to the stock engine (80 hp) with a top speed of 45 mph, the 2,255-lb pickup should make a lot of heads turn. Ideally, he would like to have a driving range of 200 miles. The EV conversion kit must include power steering, AC, and fast charging.
There are no towing requirements.
