The owner has a bold vision: transform this 7,500 lb medium-duty workhorse into a clean, capable electric flatbed hauler—and do the entire conversion himself. The goal is ambitious yet practical: a rear-wheel drive EV with 200 miles of range, a top speed of 80 mph, and enough torque to move building materials, furniture, and even boulders.
This Chevrolet C60 isn’t just a truck; it’s a piece of working history. Once used as a farm truck hauling manure, it later sat untouched as a “someday project” before Roth, its current owner, rescued it in the summer of 2025. With 80,000 original miles, a 283 small-block V8, and a 5-speed manual, it still runs and drives, but it’s ready for a new chapter.
Roth has a bold vision: transform this 7,500 lb medium-duty workhorse into a clean, capable electric flatbed hauler—and do the entire conversion himself. To prepare, he plans to shorten the frame by five feet and swap the old dump bed for a lighter flatbed, cutting unnecessary weight while keeping the C60’s unmistakable stance and presence.
The goal is ambitious yet practical: a rear-wheel drive EV with 200 miles of range, a top speed of 80 mph, and enough torque to move building materials, furniture, and even boulders. On top of its work duties, the truck will be a head-turner at car shows, showcasing how classic utility vehicles can be reimagined for the future.
The owner is looking for the right EV conversion kit to power this incredible project. He’s open to used components, and he wants to retain as much of the truck’s original character as possible. Upgrades like AC, power steering, and safety tech may come later, but for now, the focus is on bringing this C60 back to life with electric power.
This project embodies the best of the EV conversion movement: respect for history, bold engineering, and a hands-on vision to create something truly one-of-a-kind.
