Jack needs a kit and wants to find a good balance between performing the conversion himself and not reinventing the wheel. He wants the kit to use the original mounts and brackets and the conversion to be reversible.
He wants the 911 to remain rear-wheel drive but more powerful than today, with 200-250 hp and 200-250 lb.-ft of torque and a top speed of 100mph.
This 1967 Porsche 911 S has no motor and is currently undergoing a complete restoration. It is in Colorado, one of the most advanced states in terms of EV conversion, along with California and Florida.
Jack, the owner, is a 911 lover and has other Porsches in his garage. He bought the car in 2018 and has been patient for a long time for this project to finally be on track. Once the restoration work is completed, he wants to convert it to electric himself.
Jack needs a kit and wants to find a good balance between performing the conversion himself and not reinventing the wheel. He wants the kit to use the original mounts and brackets and the conversion to be reversible. The 5-speed manual transmission will be removed in favor of direct drive. He will upgrade the suspension and brakes before the conversion starts. Finally, AC or power steering won't be added.

“The 67 911, has limited space for rear tires, with 195s being the largest rear tire I can fit, so I don't need crazy power, as it won't be usable. However, I do want something more powerful than stock”. Regen braking is desired, and traction control would be interesting but not a necessity.
Jack expects 150 miles of range. The 911 will be primarily used during the weekend and charged at home overnight. He has no preference for batteries and is ok with used Tesla batteries.
For the gauges, Jack prefers to keep the car’s interior as close to the original as possible. He plans to use factory-style gauges and hide any electronic displays in the glove compartment, ensuring they don’t affect the classic look of the interior.
It goes without saying, there’s no towing requirement.
