2009 Volkswagen Beetle
Proposals received : 1
This project reimagines a 2009 Volkswagen Beetle as a quiet, reliable, and easy-to-live-with electric vehicle—perfectly suited for a car that deserves to be driven and enjoyed, not left sitting idle.
Purchased new in 2009 and barely driven over the years, this Beetle has remained in excellent overall condition, showing just over 12,000 miles.

Located in Dana Point, California, this fully street-registered Beetle will retain its rear-wheel-drive configuration and automatic-style driving experience, while benefiting from smooth, instant electric torque and simplified maintenance. The goal of the conversion is not to transform the car into something radically different, but rather to match its original performance while dramatically improving drivability and long-term ownership experience. An electric conversion offers the ideal solution for this car with strong sentimental and practical value.
Performance targets are set to match the vehicle’s original power output, enhanced by instant electric torque for a more responsive and effortless driving experience. The conversion aims for a top speed of approximately 90 mph, ensuring full highway capability, with a targeted range of around 100 miles per charge to comfortably support local and periodic driving.
With home Level 2 charging already in place, overnight charging fits naturally into the vehicle’s usage pattern. Designed for periodic driving by the owner and trusted family members, this electric Beetle will be dependable, easy to operate, and welcoming to drivers of all experience levels.
Premium, turnkey conversion services are requested for this project. Upgrades such as power steering, air conditioning, braking improvements, and chassis refinements will be evaluated to ensure the vehicle remains safe, comfortable, and enjoyable in its new electric form.
