Make Mine Electric™ is a comprehensive EV conversion workshop that blends foundational skills, applied exercises, and hands-on experience.  Developed by the industry leaders at Switch, the workshop provides experience with high voltage safety, chassis preparation, design, component selection, and installation through guided hands-on classes.

People come to Switch Vehicles in California because we offer the hands-on professional training they need to succeed in their business, educational program, or their own personal project.  Our team develops industry-leading educational tools, lab kits, and project-based curriculum, plus theoretical and practical training in our in-person workshops.  Switch Vehicles has been educating technicians, teachers, students, and do-it-yourselfers since 2008.  


People have traveled to Switch from England, Vietnam, Malaysia, Canada, and France to attend our EV Workshops. Additionally, participants travel to our facility from nearly every state within the US.



Held at our Manufacturing Facility in Sebastopol, CA, Make Mine Electric™ workshops include:

> 20+ hours of at-home training, including online courses, Electric Vehicle Systems textbook, and hands-on practice with the Switch Vehicles Relay Lab Kit. (Lab kit includes a ratchet crimper and wire stripper set, wire for several practice builds, and common wire terminations)

> 25+ Hours of guided, hands on conversion experience in our EV manufacturing facility

> ASE xEV 1 Safety Certification is discussed and training materials with practice tests are included

> 5 hours of post-workshop technical consultation, including design, fabrication, and troubleshooting support

Join us in bringing EVs to life by converting your internal combustion engine vehicle into an electric vehicle. Learn at your own pace at home, and once you’ve built a solid understanding of EV concepts, come onsite to our EV Manufacturing Facility. You’ll spend 3 days immersed in a hands-on educational experience, learning under the guidance of industry experts with 20+ years of experience.

Rooted in academic expertise and strengthened by over a decade of SwitchLab’s success in EV education, MME evolved into a hands-on, comprehensive training experience for automotive professionals, educators, and DIYers.

How long is Make Mine Electric?

Online introductions to EV safety, components, and fundamental concepts is estimated to be 10-20 hours long.

The hands-on workshop is 3 days long, with each day starting at 8:30am and ending at 5:30 pm.  Currently, workshops run Friday through Sunday.  

Coffee, snacks, and lunch are provided daily during the hands-on workshop.
