This 1937 Chevrolet Suburban was powered by an Inline 6 cylinder (3548 cc | 216.5 cu in. | 3.5 L.) with 78HP at 3200 RPM and 170 Ft-Lbs (230 NM) coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission. It is located in Berkeley, California.

Lou seeks a converter to perform the restoration and the conversion. He wants to use the Sub everyday and expects a minimum range of 200 miles, fast charging and a minimum of 250 hp.

Lou is a passionate collector of these “Burbs.” According to him, the Suburban's general condition is “rough,” with rust and no recent modification or restoration. It needs body work and rust repair. Lou can remove the chassis before delivery or leave it for a roller, but he wants it back otherwise.

He seeks a converter to perform the restoration and conversion. He wants to use the Sub every day and expects a minimum range of 200 miles, fast charging, and a minimum of 250 hp. “What I am looking for is a little Burb that appears original inside and out with the handling of a Tesla and climate control.”

He doesn’t want to use anything from the original drive line, chassis, transmission, engine, suspension, brakes, or frame in the conversion. He wants a 100% electric direct-drive power train. Actually, an EV skateboard including chassis, suspension, power steering, drive train and battery pack would be the best option. He has no preference for batteries but Telsa battery modules under warranty are expected for this incredible build. If possible, he wants an E-brake mechanically on the rear wheels located on the center floor, not a parking pawl.

For climate control (heat and AC), Lou wants to keep it simple, using the existing knob under the dash, but Tesla-efficient. In order for the AC to work efficiently, the body and headliner will require a good insulation package. Side glass and windshield should be Low-E.

The dashboard should look the same with analog EV controls, although Lou would consider replacing the inside rear view mirror (between the wiper controls) with an LCD display that could be used for GPS and double as a backup camera. Besides this functional update, it’s very important for Lou that the Suburban looks stock inside and out. He will find the needed parts for body restoration.

Finally, Lou will frequently tow a car hauler trailer with a medium duty truck on board.
