1991 Land Rover Defender (Santana) 90
Proposals received : 4
Sean imported this 1991 Land Rover Defender Santana 90 from a British shop in Spain. It was fully restored in 2024, it has no rust, and is super clean. It is powered by a 2.5L engine coupled with a manual 5-speed transmission. The 4-wheel drive weighs 3,593lbs and its odometer shows 90,000km (56,000 miles). It’s located in NYC, New York. Sean will not be physically involved in the conversion and seeks a converter in New York State or neighboring states.

The Santana is equipped with disc brakes at the front and the rear. It won't need any mechanical upgrade besides power steering. AC will be considered as an option and Sean is open to suggestions regarding the tires.
After the conversion Sean will use the Defender in the city, and will occasionally drive Upstate or to the Boston area. He expects the car to be as powerful as today with 150-200 hp, a top speed of 60 mph, and a range of 100-150 miles. Sean is flexible with his goals for the car but wants to keep the entire project on a tight budget.
He will mostly charge the car in public charging stations and wants to recharge in under 7 hours.
For the motor, he prefers the Netgain Hyper9 or the Nissan Leaf but is open to suggestions and will consider either a used or new motor if it matches his budget. For the battery pack, Telsa modules are preferred. Finally, a basic Battery Management System (BMS) display should be sufficient.
All removed parts will be resold, to be determined with the converter.
There are no towing requirements.
