Two (2) 1995 Land Rover Defender 90
This project involves two identical 1995 Land Rover Defender 90s, currently located in Jacksonville, Florida.
Both vehicles have undergone a full nut-and-bolt restoration and are in pristine condition, offering an exceptional foundation for a high-quality EV conversion.

The owner and his son have already started the conversion on both Defenders, completing a significant portion of the work, including the battery boxes, and sourcing most of the key components. The selected builder will not only finalize the first vehicle but will also benefit from a streamlined process by replicating the build on the second.
The current setup includes a Tesla Model 3 motor already installed longitudinally, configured to drive both front and rear differentials via a 3:1 gear reduction. The battery system consists of four Tesla Model 3 Long Range modules, vertically integrated into a custom battery box fitted through the bulkhead, and Tesla penthouse under the front passenger seat. Additional components already in place include a Tesla-based cooling system (radiator and dual pumps), a brake booster, a hall-effect throttle, and an on-board charger.
The vehicles are non-running at this stage, and the project requires an experienced professional to complete the integration, finalize wiring and systems, and bring both Defenders safely back on the road. All dashboard gauges have been removed and will need to be replaced, either with analog or digital solutions, depending on the builder’s recommendation.
While the owner would ideally like to work with a Defender specialist, they are seeking an experienced Tesla swap professional. A builder with expertise in both would be the ideal fit for this project.
The goal is to deliver two reliable, all-electric Defenders for daily city use, with a target range of around 200 miles and a top speed of approximately 70 mph. The owner is open to participating in smaller aspects of the build and is also interested in gaining hands-on experience throughout the process.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-advanced, thoughtfully planned dual conversion project, with most major components already in place and a clear path to completion.
