This Ford Mustang Coupe w/ Standard Interior was built in Dearborn, Michigan in 1965. The car was finished in Wimbledon White and Red Vinyl upholstery.
This Mustang is powered by a 170 cu in (2.8 L) Six Cylinder delivering 105hp and 156Lb. ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.20:1 Standard Differential.
With a mileage of 63,000miles the Mustang is in fair condition with some underbody rust (see pictures). Braking is handled by front and rear drums, and the car is not equipped with power steering nor AC. The suspension and brakes should be upgraded. Power steering and AC are highly recommended to improve driving experience.
Swapnil already has a Tesla P100D, and is now ready to convert this Mustang coupe to electric for leisure driving. He wants to participate in most of the conversion. Ideally, he would like to convert other project vehicles such as a Bronco and a Corvette!
With a curb weight of 2,488 Lb. this mustang is a very good candidate to EV conversion. Other pony enthusiasts, such as Revolt systems, have already proved it:
Swapnil would like the vehicle to be as powerful as today, 100-150 hp, with a top speed of 80 miles per hour. He is open to front wheel drive (FWD) and prefers Tesla batteries among others. With an expected range of 90-130 miles and high-speed charging at home, Swapnil’s project will be driven and very exciting.
Upon completion of the EV conversion, Swapnil is interested in other improvements that may be deemed necessary such as mechanics, electronics, painting, or other functional/cosmetic equipment.
This project is bigger than just an EV conversion.
