To date, this Company does custom automobile builds and has completed six FJ40 restomods using new components. They are in the process of doing eleven (11) more. They intend to do these eleven builds as EVs. 

They seek experienced vendors to supply electric motors and accompanying accessories for eleven (11) custom FJ 40 builds. They are also interested in any training that can be provided.


Situated in Canada, the Company has been in development mode since 2020 and employs a full-time crew of four with crossover body and technical skill sets.

Project Overview
The project involves the integration of electric motors into eleven (11) FJ 40 builds. They have procured the vehicle bodies and ordered six chassis. 

"We are looking primarily at the Motor and all Accessories but would consider a rolling chassis for the other five."  

The transformation they envision is not just about replacing the engine but enhancing the entire driving experience. These vehicles will feature four-link independent suspensions. See the Specification tab for more details.

Vendors interested should provide:
1. An outline of their company and products, as well as capabilities to provide technical advice and training.
2. An initial statement describing their approach to meeting the requirements outlined in this Request For Proposals (RFP).
3. An indicative timeframe for submitting a comprehensive proposal and quote.

Detailed Proposal Requirements
1. Technical specifications of the electric motors, highlighting horsepower and torque outputs, and compatibility with both on-road and off-road applications.
2. Specifications of proposed battery systems, emphasizing charge times, estimated range, dimensions, and integration methodology specific to the FJ 40's spatial constraints.
3. A portfolio of past projects or products that illustrates the vendor's experience and expertise in the electric automotive sector.
4. A proposed timeline for the supply of components.
5. Warranty, maintenance, and support plans for the supplied products.

Evaluation Criteria
Submissions will be assessed based on the following criteria:
1. The technical adequacy of the electric motors and batteries for the specified applications.
2. The vendor's experience, reputation, and previous work in similar projects.
3. The balance between cost and value provided within the proposal.
4. Proposed support, training and warranty conditions.

Deadline for Submissions
The deadline for the expression of interest is November 15, 2023, and the final detailed proposals,if requested, should be submitted by November 30, 2023 Update: final detailed proposals,if requested, should be submitted by December 15, 2023.
We anticipate engaging in further discussions with potential suppliers following the initial review to clarify details and negotiate terms before making a final decision.
