APP EV Systems designs, builds, and will sell, turn-key Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrain conversion kits to owners of internal combustion powered classic vehicles. These kits have been engineered and validated to OEM specifications. Now, electrifying your classic car is easier than an engine rebuild.
The faces of car enthusiasts are changing. New vehicles evolve towards a more responsible, but less engaging future. Classic car repair and maintenance parts become scarcer every day. And a new generation of enthusiasts is maturing with different ideas of what nostalgia looks like. This is unpredictable and exciting!
We are classic car enthusiasts who see opportunity in these changes. The APP EV platform retains the spirit of millions of beloved classic cars, extends their useful lives, improves their environmental credibility and reduces operating and maintenance cost and hassle.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Our systems are sold 100% complete, pre-populated on the application specific carbon fiber mounting sub frames, using battery packs made in house of High Temp BMI fire retardant glass fiber with impact resistant Kevlar out casings for maximum protection in the case of an unintended release of energy and resulting fire.
All systems are fully assembled, bench tested and ready to install. All AEM VCU and BMS electronics are connected, and loaded with software maps as needed. These kits are truly Plug and Play.
Our electric motors use a BorgWarner base unit, and our battery modules, ideally configured as 3S4P, are from A123, another Tier 1 supplier.
All mounting points are designed to survive deceleration rates of 20G and more, so ensuring that your new powertrain system, remains where it belongs, in the case of an accident, which is in its original place!
The original chassis and powertrain characteristics are retained or mildly enhanced, including the manual transmission, as this is an integral part of the model driving experience.
Operator touchpoints are carefully preserved, to responsibly steward these classics for the next generation of enthusiasts.

COMPARISON
Classic sports car internal combustion powertrains can be charmingly rowdy and non-linear. They have character, personality… and sometimes flaws. The default behavior of APP EV products does honor to the parent vehicle by faithfully reproducing its power delivery.
Of course, everybody knows by now that EV’s offer a wave of instant torque at low revs. Driver-selectable peak power output, up to 350 hp and 365 ft-lb are available – roughly double the ICE powertrain output for short periods of time.
Even contemporary EV features like selectable creep and coast regen are available at the touch of a (hidden) switch.
