2007 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet
This 2007 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet engine has already been swapped for a builder-built GM LS3. It is equipped with a manual 6-speed transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, AC, and airbags. The general condition of the car is very good according to the owner, with no rust.
With a curb weight of 3,252 Lbs., this all-wheel drive Cabriolet is already pretty strong: 331 HP and 331 ft-lb of torque. Frankie wants the car to be a bit more powerful than today, with a minimum of 350 ft-lb of torque at 0rpm, and a top speed of over 130 mph.

The general condition of the car is very good, according to the owner, with no rust. “Not car show quality, but is very good” he says.
Frankie bought the car in 2021 from the garage that had performed the LS engine modification. Along with the ICE engine swap, coil-over shocks replaced the OEM Porsche suspension. However, Bilstein shocks may be the next suspension upgrade.
Frankie knows his cars and already owns two Teslas: a 2015 Model S P85D and a 2019 Model 3P. Now he wants to convert his Porsche into a rare and unique functioning car with an OEM look. Project quality is Kevin Erickson’s standard for his custom builds.

He is open to suggestions regarding driving train options and would drop the AWD if necessary.
Frankie has a level 2 charger at home and will charge the Porsche overnight. He is expecting a minimum of 125 miles of range, “150 miles would be ideal,” according to him.
Frankie wants to use as many used EV parts as possible. He has no preference in regard to batteries although he leans more toward Tesla because of its track record. He is interested in Revolt Systems and Stealth EV motor setups, but he is open-minded to suggestions. Moreover, he’s interested in hearing the pros/cons of keeping the current transmission over going direct drive.
The car is in Hanover, Maryland, but Frankie will ship the car cross-country for its conversion. Ideally, he would like to participate in the conversion for the little things and attend training classes.
He is open to discussion with shops concerning the resale and/or trade of parts removed parts from the Porsche Carrera, such as the motor, transmission, exhaust system, gas tank, and any other not needed parts.
Needless to say, no towing requirement.

Edward MonfortMay 31, 2023, 01:39 PMThis car can be converted using a larger diameter AC PM reluctance motor with a 500 amp controller. Battery would need to be a NMC with 5 C rating for distance or LTO for racing but less distance.
What does the customer want? Speed or distance?
It would also need a thermal management system which is also what DIYev specializes in for EV builds as well.
DIYev also offers fuel cell technology for long distance trips but that is so new that it isn't cheap but you would have a one of a kind EV from any other in the entire world.
I'm looking forward to seeing your proposal. I just checked out your website and love the family connection.
Mikey,
I think it would make for some great content as well! Would love to discuss some details with you.

Thanks...I think it would be really fun to have an electric 997 Cab too👍🏾
I think I found out about you guys too in the EV Builder's Guide magazine so I was definitely going to reach out since you guys are so close.
Definitely share if you find out anything. Personally I think the hardest part going to be the battery pack. I would love to configure a pack to fit where the fuel tank is currently.
Thanks,
Blake
